Her journey reflects the transformation of the Bidan profession — from traditional knowledge passed down through experience, to a more structured, trusted and professional career pathway through platforms such as iBidan.
At the beginning of her journey, one of the biggest challenges was building public trust in the role of a Bidan. At that time, many people were still unfamiliar with the importance of postnatal care and did not fully understand how Bidans could support mothers after childbirth.
For Bidan Lynn, the role of a Bidan has changed greatly over the years.
Traditionally, Bidans relied heavily on hands-on experience, traditional massage techniques, herbs, bertungku, pantang care and knowledge passed down through generations.

🟠 Impact Story: Bidan Dhia
Strengthening Traditional Care Through Knowledge, Experience and Professional Growth
Bidan Dhia Fathia Zuhra is a Johor Bahru-based Bidan with nearly 18 years of experience in traditional therapy, women’s wellness, bekam, postnatal care and recovery support.
Her journey in this field began from a sincere passion to help women, especially mothers after childbirth, feel more comfortable, confident and supported during their recovery journey.
As a mother herself, Bidan Dhia understands that childbirth and postnatal recovery are not only physical experiences. They also involve emotional changes, tiredness, pain, adjustment and the need for proper support.
This personal understanding has shaped the way she cares for mothers. To her, every mother is not just a customer. Every mother is a woman going through an important life transition who deserves patience, empathy, attention and proper care.
Bidan Dhia also comes from a family background connected to traditional Bidan knowledge. This has strengthened her passion to preserve the value of traditional care while continuing to grow with a more modern and professional approach.
For Bidan Dhia, the difference between Bidans in the past and Bidans today is significant.
Traditionally, Bidans relied heavily on inherited knowledge, hands-on experience, community trust, traditional massage, herbs and natural postnatal practices. This knowledge is valuable and should not be lost.
However, today’s Bidans also need to move forward with stronger structure, professionalism and continuous learning. Through iBidan, Bidans are encouraged to understand not only traditional care techniques, but also customer communication, service ethics, work standards, safety awareness and the needs of modern mothers.
Through iBidan, Bidan Dhia learned that traditional knowledge can become even more powerful when combined with a systematic and professional platform.
Her involvement with iBidan gave her more confidence to grow as a modern Bidan. She began to see the profession not only as traditional practice, but as a meaningful career that can be strengthened through knowledge, training, recognition and professional development.
Besides her years of experience, Bidan Dhia also continued to improve herself through learning. Her exposure to areas such as health science management, holistic wellness and professional wellness certification has helped her serve women with greater confidence and understanding.
To her, a Bidan should never stop learning. If society is to trust the Bidan profession more deeply, Bidans must continue to improve their knowledge, service quality, work attitude and professional image.
During her journey with iBidan, Bidan Dhia gained more opportunities to grow as a woman, wellness practitioner and postnatal care provider. She also saw that customer trust became stronger when mothers knew that their Bidan was supported by experience, training and a structured platform.
Receiving recognition during the iBidan Yunnan Excellence Journey 2026 was a meaningful milestone for Bidan Dhia. It was not only a personal achievement, but also a reminder that the knowledge, sacrifice and dedication of a Bidan can be seen, valued and celebrated.
For Bidan Dhia, postnatal care is not just about massage. It is about helping mothers feel supported, heard, valued and reminded that taking care of themselves is also important.
She believes that when a mother is well supported, calm and confident, she will have more strength to care for her family.
Her story represents iBidan’s wider mission — to preserve traditional Bidan knowledge, strengthen professional standards, encourage continuous learning and build a trusted postnatal recovery platform for mothers in Malaysia and Singapore.
